Screenplay is an experiment in abandoning control. First observed as the water during a rainfall interacting with a screen door – an incidental moment, now preserved by paint that dries before the pattern can evaporate fully. The pattern comes to exist by way of gravity, surface tension and evaporation, leaving a curious and unpredictable matrix bound within the mesh grid. There is no asking to change, simply respecting the outcome.
Screenplay was a part of the second edition of Double Entendre, a group show that featured works from Toronto and Montréal
